These boots are as good as I hoped they would be. The leather is good quality and the design is clever in that the laces allow for adjusting the size around the calf depending on whether you are wearing them over trousers or just tights.
It is hard to find stylish boots with a proper winter sole like these.

I've just ordered a black pair of these having owned a brown pair for the last year. The brown ones have been the comfiest footwear I've owned, and look great too. In fact, they look better as they get a bit worn. I wear them a lot and walk for a few miles each day and the original soles and heels are still intact. I would totally recommend them.

Bought pair of black. The delivery was smooth and on time. I have read other reviews on Timberland site. Some say the leather is hard and will take some breaking in-not a bit. Lovely and supple, well made, a good hefty zip. Because I was ordering on line wasnt sure what size. Checked Timberlands sizing chart-they list US 9=EU 40=UK 7. I am a UK 6=39.5. Other buyers have suggested larger size than normal as toes narrow, I opted for UK 7. But 6.5 would have been better as need insole. v.comfy.
